Trastuzumab deruxtecan (TDXd) in the second line for metastatic HER2 positive breast cancer shows improved overall survival over T-DM1 continued PFS benefit after longer follow up. This abstract was also presented at SABCS 2022.
Those who relapsed >1 year after treatment would not have been eligible for this trial unless they had already received first line treatment with a taxane and trastuzumab. I think this firmly establishes TDXd as the second-line treatment of choice over TDM-1.
that is 100% true but I am concerned about very high percentage of patients who relapsed less then 6 months after completion of adjuvant therapy.
I would currently consider Enhertu for those who had early relapse. In my opinion, the jury is still out for those who relapsed one year or later
