Ribociclib in the Treatment of Hormone-Receptor Positive/HER2-Negative Advanced and Early Breast Cancer: Overview of Clinical Data and Patients Selection

Ribociclib in the Treatment of Hormone-Receptor Positive/HER2-Negative Advanced and Early Breast Cancer: Overview of Clinical Data and Patients Selection

Source : https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9013420/

Among pre- and postmenopausal women with hormone receptor-positive (HR+) breast cancer (BC), combinations of an aromatase inhibitor (AI) or fulvestrant with a CDK 4/6 inhibitor (palbociclib, ribociclib, or abemaciclib) have...

Conclusion/Relevance: In conclusion, ribociclib with letrozole or with fulvestrant is effective for the entire spectrum of patients with HR BC in the advanced setting. Ribociclib has all the characteristics of an innovative drug able to change the clinical practice and most BC patients’ prognoses.

Impact of socioeconomic status and rurality on cancer-specific survival among women with de novo metastatic breast cancer by race/ethnicity - Breast Cancer Research and Treatment

Impact of socioeconomic status and rurality on cancer-specific survival among women with de novo metastatic breast cancer by race/ethnicity - Breast Cancer Research and Treatment

Source : https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10549-022-06603-6

Purpose There are approximately 150,000 women living with metastatic breast cancer (mBC) in the United States. Disparities in de novo mBC incidence and mortality exist across race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status (SES),...

Conclusion: Overall, BC-specific survival among women with de novo mBC differs by race/ethnicity, with the greatest adverse impacts of SES and rurality affecting Black women with HR-negative disease.

Cost-Utility of the CDK 4/6 Inhibitors for Postmenopausal Women With Luminal Advanced Breast Cancer in Brazil

Cost-Utility of the CDK 4/6 Inhibitors for Postmenopausal Women With Luminal Advanced Breast Cancer in Brazil

Source : https://www.valuehealthregionalissues.com/article/S2212-1099(22)00099-1/fulltext

Several trials have demonstrated the benefit of the CDK 4/6 inhibitors for postmenopausal women with luminal advanced breast cancer. This research aims to compare the cost-utility of the CDK 4/6...

Conclusions: Even though there is no established willingness to pay threshold in Brazil, the estimated ICUR for CDK 4/6 inhibitors is >6 times the Brazilian GDP per capita (GDP per capita = US$5694.73), which might be a barrier to their inclusion in the Brazilian public health system.

Polysialic Acid Self-assembled Nanocomplexes for Neutrophil-Based Immunotherapy to Suppress Lung Metastasis of Breast Cancer - PubMed

Polysialic Acid Self-assembled Nanocomplexes for Neutrophil-Based Immunotherapy to Suppress Lung Metastasis of Breast Cancer - PubMed

Source : https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35411426/

The role of neutrophils in tumor metastasis has recently attracted widespread interest. Neutrophils are the most abundant immune cells in human peripheral blood, and large numbers can spontaneously migrate to...

Conclusions: Pharmacodynamic results suggested that neutrophil-mediated AM-PIC chemoimmunotherapy inhibited tumor metastasis in mice with lung metastasis of 4T1 breast cancer. Overall, PSA-modified nanocomplexes offer promising neutrophil-mediated, targeted drug delivery systems to treat lung metastasis of breast cancer.
