Abemaciclib in Patients with End-Stage Renal Disease and Advanced Estrogen Receptor-Positive, Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2-Negative Breast Cancer: A Report of 2 Cases
Source : https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9035949/
Cyclin4/6-dependent kinase inhibitors (CDKIs) plus hormonotherapy currently represent the standard golden treatment for patients with estrogen receptor-positive (ER+), human epidermal growth factor receptor-2-negative (her-2−) advanced breast carcinoma. Among CDKIs, abemaciclib...
Relevance: This report of two women with metastatic breast cancer suggests the potentially safe use of abemaciclib in ESRD, which should be confirmed in more extensive real-life studies.
Cyclin-Dependent Kinase 4 and 6 Inhibitors: A Quantum Leap in the Treatment of Advanced Breast Cancers
Breast cancer (BC) is defined as an uncontrolled growth of breast cells that affected 2.3 million women in 2020 alone. Until a few years earlier, radiotherapy and chemotherapy were the...
Relevance: Palbociclib, ribociclib, and abemaciclib are the three drugs that have been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and are even more efficient when used in combination with aromatase inhibitors and fulvestrant. This article aimed to explain the effect of CDK4/6 inhibitors on tumor cells and their efficacy in...

No imputed HLA allele was associated with breast cancer risk in our large Asian study. Direct measurement of HLA gene expressions may be required to further explore the associations between...
Conclusions: No imputed HLA allele was associated with breast cancer risk in our large Asian study. Direct measurement of HLA gene expressions may be required to further explore the associations between HLA genes and breast cancer risk.
Low level of Fibrillarin, a ribosome biogenesis factor, is a new independent marker of poor outcome in breast cancer - BMC Cancer
Source : https://bmccancer.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12885-022-09552-x
Background A current critical need remains in the identification of prognostic and predictive markers in early breast cancer. It appears that a distinctive trait of cancer cells is their addiction...
Conclusion: Altogether, we identified FBL as a powerful ribosome biogenesis-related independent marker of breast cancer outcome. Surprisingly we unveil a dual association of the ribosome biogenesis FBL factor with prognosis. These data suggest that hyper- but also hypo-activation of ribosome biogenesis are molecular traits of distinct tumors.
Real world incidence and management of adverse events in patients with HR+, HER2- metastatic breast cancer receiving CDK4 and 6 inhibitors in a United States community setting - PubMed

This real-world study provides insight into the occurrence of AEs which varied by CDK4 and 6 inhibitor. Compared to clinical trials, frequencies of AEs were numerically lower but dose reductions...
Conclusions: This real-world study provides insight into the occurrence of AEs which varied by CDK4 and 6 inhibitor. Compared to clinical trials, frequencies of AEs were numerically lower but dose reductions due to AEs were numerically higher. It is possible these differences reflect proactive management of AEs on the part of clinicians to help...
