Pretreatment neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio as prognostic factor in metastatic breast cancer treated with cyclin dependent kinase 4/6 inhibitors

Pretreatment neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio as prognostic factor in metastatic breast cancer treated with cyclin dependent kinase 4/6 inhibitors

Source : https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fonc.2022.1105587/full

BackgroundCyclin dependent kinase inhibitors (CdK4/6i) changed the course of hormone receptor positive (HR+) HER2 negative (HER2-) metastatic breast cancer (mBC). To date, no factors have been shown to predict response...

Conclusions: High NLR was associated with worse PFS and OS in HR HER2- mBC patients treated with first line CdK4/6i. NLR is a reliable and inexpensive prognostic marker, easily accessible in routine clinical practice, which could help optimize the therapeutic strategy. These results need to be confirmed in larger prospective studies.

Hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative, metastatic breast cancer responded well to abemaciclib and exemestane after palbociclib and fulvestrant failure: A case report and literature review

Hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative, metastatic breast cancer responded well to abemaciclib and exemestane after palbociclib and fulvestrant failure: A case report and literature review

Source : https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fonc.2022.1022913/full

There is uncertainty regarding the usefulness of CDK4/6-inhibitor-based therapy for hormone receptor positive (HR+), human epidermal grow factor receptor 2 negative (HER2−), metastatic breast cancer (MBC), when CDK4/6 inhibitor treatment...

Conclusions: The patient had a good response to abemaciclib and exemestane, with progression-free survival much longer than previously reported. PIK3CA and TP53 mutations were identified after cancer progression following abemaciclib treatment. It is unclear whether thalidomide increased the effectiveness of abemaciclib. Whether benefit can be...

Cyclin-dependent kinase 4/6 inhibitor-associated thromboembolism: a critical evaluation of the current evidence - PubMed

Source : https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36696184/

Cyclin-dependent kinase 4/6 (CDK 4/6) inhibitors are an essential treatment modality for hormone receptor-positive breast cancer. As the rates of breast cancer continue to rise globally and the indications for...

Conclusions: We review data describing the venous and arterial thromboembolic risks in clinical trials of CDK 4/6 inhibitors as well as the now rather extensive real-world evidence available, including a comparison of risk for each of the 3 agents approved for use in breast cancer: palcociclib, ribociclib, and abemaciclib. As the role of...

Abstract. Purpose: Preclinical data showed that prophylactic temozolomide (TMZ) significantly prevented breast cancer brain metastasis. We present results of a phase I trial combining T-DM1 with TMZ for the prevention...

/>

Conclusions: Metronomic TMZ in combination with standard dose T-DM1 shows low-grade toxicity and potential activity in secondary prevention of HER2 brain metastases.

Conclusions: Our results confirm the efficacy and tolerability of CDK4/6i in routine clinical practice. This is the first real-world data describing and comparing the efficacy and toxicity of CDK4/6i in the Brazilian population.
